On Sunday, September 27th, Young Artists of America® marked the official start of construction on our first permanent rehearsal facility. The 10,604-square-foot space will also serve as Montgomery County’s first collaborative performing arts rehearsal hub, providing studios and community gathering spaces for artists, students, and arts organizations. For nearly 15 years, YAA has provided training and performance opportunities for young musical theatre artists, all without a permanent rehearsal facility. Our new home will be located at 1626 East Jefferson Street in Rockville, Maryland, at Congressional Plaza. It is accessible by Metro, includes free on-site parking, and is a short distance from our home stage at Strathmore.

The September 27th event marked the formal launch of the construction and renovation project. Donors, supporters, community leaders, and elected officials attended and students performed. Our new home will open by summer of 2027 and we can’t wait to see you there!
